FTCH has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer/Project Manager to join the Infrastructure Division in our Novi office. The position will service municipal clients in a variety of project needs. The qualified candidate will be a licensed engineer and have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience working with communities from design though construction on a broad range of municipal projects. This opportunity is best suited for candidates who possess a strong technical background, a proven record of client interaction, and the ability to plan and manage the design efforts. The position also requires a person who is thorough, self-directed, and has sound interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships at all organization levels.
Develop proposals, project plans, and schedules.
Manage the design, development, and implementation of projects.
Represent clients at public meetings, perform contract negotiation and administration, and project budgeting.
Design municipal public works and utility projects; handle construction contract administration; project management; and client contact.
Assist communities with private development plan reviews.
Work closely with senior staff members to cross market and integrate services for existing clients and assist with developing strategic plans for growth and business development.
Support business development activities including community and client events, presentations, contract negotiations, and approach to teaming arrangements.
Identify and participate in professional organizations and networking activities that foster relationships with existing and potential clients.
Assist in developing, training, and mentoring staff.
Licensed PE (Michigan PE preferred, or ability to become licensed within 60 months).
15+ years civil/municipal experience working with local governments in Southeast Michigan, focusing on Oakland, Livingston, Macomb, and Wayne Counties.
Strong public presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
Broad technical background in one or more of the following areas: municipal infrastructure planning and design, asset management, program management, as well as familiarity with EPA and state DEQ requirements and standards.
Experience leading and managing project teams.
