POSITION PURPOSE: The Quality Control Intern will support the team in reaching established goals and objectives for the business. During the 11 week program, an essential project will be completed and new methodologies developed will be adopted by the organization. The Internship program is designed to have direct business impact and to drive bottom line health and support top-line growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: This specific project will be focused on the Environmental Monitoring Program (Air Samples and Machine Swabs) and Sanitization Procedures at the Nice-Pak Jonesboro site. •Perform analysis for all Environmental Monitoring. •Analyze the data to determine if designated site is relevant and needs to continue being monitored. •Identify additional testing that is needed to support optimal sanitization schedules across all value streams •Identify microbial hot spots throughout the plant and create an inspection book with photos to help train others. •Confirm up to date Sanitization reports for all lines
PROJECT REVIEW: a. Develop and present project findings to the leadership team
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: •Completed inspection book to identify microbial hot spots across all production lines •Report identifying sanitization effectiveness and recommendations for improvement based on microbial data
EDUCATION: •Junior or Senior year student with focus in Microbiology, Chemistry or Engineering.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: •Basic understanding of time management concepts and information review
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: •Prior exposure to Microbiology projects helpful but not required
SKILLS/ABILITIES: •MS Word and Excel (Basic to Intermediate) •Problem solving skills •Good Writing skills •Strong organizational skills •Ability to present findings in a group setting •Ability to participate in the full length of the program (6/5/2017 – 8/18/2017)
WORKING CONDITIONS •Flexible schedule is needed to support sanitization activities that may occur on different shifts during the 11 week rotation. •Work will include laboratory setting as well as manufacturing lines. This will include being around industrial equipment during chemical cleaning processes. -No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.

Additional Salary Information: Internship is located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. There is a $2,000 stipend to assist with commuting/temporary housing if selected candidate lives more than fifty (50) miles away.
