Work Location: STS Dallas, TX Office; some travel to various field locations; occasional responsibilities outside normal business hours
The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day administration and client communication activities associated with various Third Party Engineering projects. With limited day- to -day supervision, the Project Manager is expected to work independently and communicate regularly with the Vice President of Engineering.
Critical Skill Set/Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering
Demonstrate effective knowledge of Microsoft Office products and capacity to learn engineering related software applications
Self-starter who can work with limited direct supervision
Attention to detail and commitment to follow tasks and projects until completion
Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet client requirements for multiple projects simultaneously
Capacity to problem solve through reason and by analyzing data /circumstances
Professional attitude and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, vendors and contractors
Registered PE with NCEES registration
Prepare Third Party Engineering Proposals based on Client provided Requests for Proposals including:
Understanding of Client scope and ability to evaluate RFP and provide questions that would affect STS price/delivery quickly so that an accurate Proposal can be prepared in a timely manner;
Develop timeline for project completion including management of outsourced engineering resources
Manage projects once awarded and assigned. Project management to include as a minimum:
Manage outsource engineering resources
Provide QA/QC on engineering products received from outsource engineering resources. This may include returning work needing corrections and managing the timeliness of the work to ensure meeting Client deadlines;
Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors and schedules;
Client communications to provide at a minimum progress and budget updates. May also require understanding changing project scope and providing updated cost and/or schedule to Client and defending the changes.
Marketing STS Consultants’ Engineering capabilities both by intentional marketing efforts and by performing at a high level for existing Clients.

Preferred Skill Set/Education/Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry.
Minimum 5 years of project management – Third Party Engineering experience preferred
