Yale University seeks to recruit faculty at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level to Yale’s interdisciplinary Energy Sciences Institute, which unites members of multiple departments. The Institute is one of several science and engineering initiatives located at Yale’s West Campus, a 137-acre campus whose acquisition in 2007 has provided the University with unparalleled opportunities to expand its activities in cutting-edge research areas. We seek a creative scholar in the area of energy conversion and/or storage who will have a primary appointment in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant questions in the study of energy. We expect the successful candidate to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, participate in interdisciplinary research and training, and excel in regular graduate and undergraduate teaching including core classes of the mechanical engineering curriculum. Applicants should create a profile at https://apply.interfolio.com/51870 and upload a statement of research plans, teaching plans (including a list of courses that they are qualified to teach), curriculum vitae, and up to three reprints of published work(s). Applicants should also arrange for three references to upload their letters of recommendation. For further information, contact Mary MacNicholl at email@example.com or P.O. Box 208284, New Haven, CT 06520-8284. The review of applications will begin on November 15, 2018 and continue until the position has been filled. Yale University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its faculty, students, and staff and strongly encourages applications from women, members of minority groups, protected veterans, and persons with disabilities.
