SunEast Development LLC, a major developer of utility-scale solar PV projects in the eastern U.S., seeks an experienced Interconnection Manager to be based out of our Malvern, PA office. This motivated candidate will manage our various interconnection consultants and engineers in matters relating to the interconnection process, from pre-applications and feasibility studies through execution of Interconnection Agreements for SunEast’s portfolio of utility-scale solar projects in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.
The candidate should possess 3+ years’ experience managing the interconnection of large-scale renewable energy power facilities, with experience in the PJM, NYISO and ISO-NE markets. Skills required for success in this position include effective communications, the ability to develop strong working relationships, a focus on detail, effective problem-solving ability, excellent project management, and in-depth knowledge of power market fundamentals.
Act a primary point of contact for independent system operators, transmission service providers and all interconnection activities.
Manage and track the SunEast project portfolio of interconnection related studies, applications, and follow-up requirements.
Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity; develop best plan for interconnection.
Oversee our interconnection consultant’s work, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis including evaluating available capacity for transmission lines and substations and estimate timing and costs.
Oversee utility interconnection studies to ensure milestones are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Develop interconnection schedules; achieve milestones on time and on budget.
Work with the Development team to identify issues that could impact site selection.
Manage work requirements of external resources to maintain accuracy and timeliness.
Provide interconnection information for bid proposals.
Travel within the U.S. as necessary.

Detailed knowledge of the eastern-U.S. energy markets, with a focus on NYISO, ISO-NE, and PJM markets.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Master’s degree a plus.
Strong communication and relationship building skills.
Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
Good multi-tasking and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Travel within the U.S. as necessary.
Additional Salary Information: SunEast will offer the successful candidate a competitive salary, incentive bonus, and attractive benefits package. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Development. Compensation and job title to be determined based on the selected candidate’s background and experience.
