Taylor Engineering, Inc. seeks a SeniorMarine Structural Engineer with 11-15 years of marine structural experience to work in any of our Florida locations (Destin, Sarasota, Tampa, or Jacksonville). This position will support our interdisciplinary waterfront, coastal, water resources, and environmental team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a leadership role for the waterfront engineering team to help successfully manage multiple projects including ship terminals, seawalls, bulkheads, marine foundations, marinas, piers, docks, marine foundations, ship terminals, and shoreline protection
Act as an advisor to the team regarding projects, proposals, tasks, and operations
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Participate in business development activities and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Master of Science in Civil or Coastal Engineering, or other applicable engineering discipline
Experience: 11-15 years in structural engineering with marine structures
Registration: Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Florida Structural Engineer (SE)
Experience with water control structures, dredging, and dredged material management systems is preferred
Have knowledge of all applicable regulations and requirements including the International Building Code, Florida Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete, AISC Manual of Steel Construction, and the National Design Specification for Wood Construction.
Experience with STAAD PRO, AllPile, LPile, SupportIT, and Ensoft Group is a plus
Organized with the ability to multi-task
Ability to carry out complex mathematical calculations
Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and spot issues in complex technical, scientific, abstract information, engineering designs, and diagrams
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Energetic, detail-oriented team player
Lifting up to (35) pounds unassisted
Sitting for extended periods of time
Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
Ability to go out into the field and construction sites
