Designer III (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.; Bakersfield, CA): Perform mechanical engineering duties in planning and designing oil and gas facility projects, chemical process industry projects, and other engineering projects. Develop piping and equipment models using PDMS software. Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and plot-plans. Utilize CAE (Computer Assisted Engineering) and CAD (Computer Assisted Design) software applications. Develop piping plans and material take off (MTO) to support project construction estimates. Develop 3D models. Review 3D models in Navisworks with design team and clients. Review designs, verify drawings for technical accuracy, and monitor progress of drawings against project schedules to ensure work is completed within schedules. Confer with project personnel to provide technical design solutions to resolve problems.40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelors, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Upstream facility engineering and design, including PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, Tank Appurtenance, Piping Plans, Transposition Drawings, and Equipment Layout; Oil and Gas piping/pipelines; Using CAE and CAD applications to develop 2D and 3D models; Aveva software, including Isodraft, PDMS, and Diagrams; Pipework using Aveva software; and Navisworks, AutoCAD, Cadworx, Revit, and Microstation.
