Job Summary:
Urban Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Philadelphia, New York City, or Cherry Hill areas who will lead facility design mechanical engineering tasks for various projects, including assessment and design. The types of projects include renovations and ground-up designs for high-rise buildings, multi-unit housing, commercial and academic buildings, public facilities, transit/bus stations, and maintenance facilities.
Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee MEP design work with architectural and other engineering disciplines
Responsible for project budgets and project delivery
Perform design tasks and provide quality control
Manage and maintain client relations
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License is required
10-15 years of experience in facility mechanical engineering design. (Have less than 10 years of experience? See our Mechanical Engineer role)
In-depth knowledge of building mechanical systems and a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering and construction.
Strong leadership skills to meet deadlines and manage contract work with minimal direction
Ability and experience to mentor and manage junior engineers and design staff
Ability to travel to project sites within the tri-state area regularly or across the country as needed. Expected travel time outside of the tri-state area is about 10 %.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively work with clients
Must live within or be relocating to within a reasonable commute of our Philadelphia, PA, Cherry Hill, NJ, or New York City offices.
