The Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute at Princeton University invites applications for the Princeton Bioengineering Institute- Innovators (PBI2),
 Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships Program  


This opportunity is intended to foster community and collaborative work within the Omenn-Darling Bioengineering Institute (ODBI) at Princeton University. 
PBI2 fellows will work with two or more Princeton faculty to establish an interdisciplinary research plan for bioengineering projects to be performed as 
part of the growing ODBI community. PBI2 fellows who ignite new collaborations between faculty across the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) 
and ODBI are strongly encouraged. We particularly welcome projects that seek to develop novel technologies, and utilize new tools for addressing fundamental 
questions about living systems, and/or harnessing these systems for applications.

*Pathway to independence: Fellows gain experience in guiding their own new research directions, including managing a research budget of up to $25,000 per year. 
*Leadership and community: Fellows will help advance new programming, host speakers, and form new connections in our community.  


Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. Fellows will hold the rank of Postdoctoral Research Associate 
and be provided a $70,000 initial salary with generous yearly increases, standard University benefits, annual research allowance, and conference travel allowance.  


Eligible candidates must have received their Ph.D. in a related field (e.g. Bioengineering and other Engineering fields, Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and have no more than two years 
post PhD experience prior to the anticipated start date.  


Applicants should submit a research proposal that clearly and succinctly describes a collaborative project between themselves and two or more Princeton faculty members affiliated 
with ODBI (a list of ODBI-affiliated faculty can be found at: https://bioengineering.princeton.edu/people/faculty). 
Applicants are encouraged to reach out to potential Princeton faculty mentors to discuss projects; however, that is not a requirement, and PBI2 fellows are given flexibility 
their first year at Princeton to decide who to work with.
